Manuel Tron is an attorney graduated from Universidad Panamericana, where he also obtained post-graduate degrees in Economic and Corporate Law and Tax Law. Additionally, he attended the International Tax Institute (University of Wisconsin Law School).
For more than 35 years he has been an advisor on estate and succession planning matters (for families, investment advisors and financial institutions), he has also advice corporate clients on international tax matters and foreign governments, both independently and in collaboration with international organizations (such as the Inter-American Development Bank).
He was a member, by presidential appointment, of the first Government Board of the Procuraduría de Defensa del Contribuyente (PRODECON) from 2012 to 2016, and has been an advisor in international tax law matters for different areas of the Tax Administration Service (SAT, for its acronym in Spanish) and of the Federal Court of Tax and Administrative Justice (Tribunal Federal de Justicia Fiscal y Administrativa).
Additionally, he has advised numerous members of the different Commissions of the Supreme Court of Justice and has been an advisor for the Treasury Commissions of both the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Republic in a number of legislatures.
He was a member of the Permanent Scientific Committee (1998-2008) and then President of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) for two terms from 2009 to 2013, being designated as Honorary President for life at the end of his second term.
He is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
